Why not visit Roquebrune-sur-Argens and its walled town dating from a thousand years ago.
Cogolin (15 km), capital of craft industries with its pipe and carpet factories. It is a sailor’s town with various museums (Raimu Museum, the “Musée des Empreintes et Tradition”).

Ste Maxime (8 km), is one of the most popular seaside resorts on the Mediterranean coast with its Phonograph Museum, the Tour Carrée and the Museum of Local Traditions as well as a casino and a golf course.

The very chic Saint Tropez (23 km) has an abundance of designer shops, restaurants, pavement cafes and artists. Also visit its L’Annonciade art museum and the naval museum in the Citadel.

The lakeside pile dwellings of Port Grimaud (French ‘Little Venice’), Grimaud and its Museum of Popular Art (17 km), La Croix Valmer and its coastal path (15 km).

On the coast are Cannes, Nice, Monaco and the lively holiday resorts of Frejus and St Raphael.

Just inland are the old hilltop towns and villages of Gassin, Ramatuelle and Roquebrune.

Well worth a visit is the Grand Canyon du Verdon which is not as large as the Grand Canyon in America but is similarly impressive.

Les Issambres / Col de Bougnon area

Les Issambres is a small village situated on the beautiful coastline of the Bay of St Tropez, with its 8kms of fine sandy beaches and rugged inlets, whilst also being within easy access of the breathtaking wooded hillsides of the Massif des Maures. This makes Les Issambres an ideal holiday destination.

For eating out, the village has a variety of seafood restaurants, pizzerias and cafés situated mainly along the seafront promenade.

There is also a post office, bank, bakers, butchers, pharmacy and a small supermarket (petit casino). Every Thursday there is a fish market, and local produce markets are held weekly too.

In the village square you will find a small tourist information centre and during the summer months live entertainment is held in the square during the evenings.

During the summer evenings you can stroll along the delightful sea front in the evening, and visit the local craft market which is frequently held. Or why not just relax and enjoy watching the spectacular sunset across the bay.

For sports enthusiasts there is a sailing club, and watersports activities are nearby, as well as three golf courses in St EndreolSt Maxime and Roquebrune.

golf st maximeLes Issambres is also a wonderful location for day trips either by car or boat. It is well worth taking the boat taxi across the bay to St Tropez or Port Grimaud, or up the coast to St Raphael. Or why not take a drive along the stunning coastline to the nearby villages and towns?

There are two water theme parks nearby – Aquatica at Frejus and Aqualand at Ste Maxime. Sail-boarding, water skiing and jet-ski hire are available along the coast.
